Camshaft Sensor Repair & Replacement
Expert camshaft sensor replacement to restore proper engine timing and performance.
Service Overview
The camshaft controls the intake and exhaust valves of an internal combustion engine, regulating the four strokes (Intake, Compression, Power, and Exhaust) of the ignition process. The camshaft is sequenced to rotate at half the speed of the crankshaft, and all camshafts must be properly timed or severe engine damage could occur.
The camshaft position sensor monitors the position and rotational speed of the camshaft. This information is sent to the engine control module (ECM) which uses it to determine the correct timing for fuel injection and ignition. A failing sensor can cause poor engine performance, reduced fuel economy, and stalling.
