Brake Pipe Service

Brake Pipe Repair & Replacement

Critical safety repairs for leaking or corroded brake lines. Don't risk your stopping power.

Service Overview

Both your brake hoses and pipes play a vital role in helping your brakes to function. Because of this, your vehicle will not pass its MOT if they are worn, leaking, or excessively corroded.

The brake pipe is a rigid (usually steel or copper) pipe that transfers pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brake hoses. Over time, these steel pipes can rust due to exposure to road salt and moisture.

The brake hose is a flexible, reinforced rubber pipe that connects the rigid pipe to the brake calipers. Being constantly exposed to movement and the elements, rubber hoses can become brittle, crack, and eventually leak.

Signs of Trouble

If your brake pedal feels "soft" or pushes right to the floor with little resistance, it often indicates air in the system caused by a leaking pipe or hose.
Finding patches of yellowish, oily fluid near your wheels is a major warning sign of a brake fluid leak. Do not drive the vehicle if you suspect a leak.
Our technicians check for rust spots on your metal lines. If rust has eaten into the metal beyond surface level, the pipe must be renewed to ensure it can withstand high braking pressures.

Safety Warning

Brake fluid leaks are extremely dangerous. A loss of pressure can lead to partial or complete braking failure.
